30-DAY AI PLAN

A 30-day plan for using AI coding agents at work

Do not spend a month collecting tools. Use the month to turn one real task into a repeatable, measured workflow. Each week should end with evidence that changes the next decision.

Week 1: choose the problem

Select one recurring development task with a clear owner and visible finish line. Capture the current cycle time, correction pattern and failure risks.

Write the constraints before choosing the tool.

Week 2: compare on the same brief

Give two candidate tools the same repository state and acceptance contract. Compare completed evidence, correction effort and total usage.

Stop any retry that does not introduce new evidence.

Week 3: document the winning workflow

Record the intake, context package, approval points, verification steps and handoff. Make the process usable by someone who did not watch the experiment.

Keep credentials and private conversation outside the guide.

Week 4: repeat and improve

Run the workflow again on a similar task. Improve the weakest step rather than adding more tools.

At the end of the month, decide whether to expand, revise or stop based on accepted outcomes.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What builders ask next

Which coding agent should I use for the plan?

Use two tools that fit your environment and compare them on the same bounded task. Codex and Claude Code are common candidates, not automatic winners.

How much time should the daily work take?

The plan is organized by weekly outcomes, not daily screen time. Spend only what is needed to complete and measure the selected task.

Can QERA prepare the 30-day project?

Yes. Start with QERA to define the task, constraints, evidence and handoff before the tool comparison begins.
